Introduction

At the ATLAS Open Data Analysis Service, we are committed to ensuring the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Notice outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you access and use our platform. By using our service, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data as described in this notice. For detailed information, please review the full privacy policy, which also describes your rights and our compliance with privacy regulations.

1. Data Collection

We collect the following personal data when you use the ATLAS Open Data Analysis Service:

  • Username: The username you choose to access the platform.
  • Email Address: The email address used for communication.
  • SSH Public Key: The SSH public key required for secure access to the service.

This data is collected solely for the purpose of providing you with access to the ATLAS Open Data Analysis Service and ensuring the security of the platform. All data is stored securely in encrypted form and will not be shared with third parties.

Additionally, every time a user accesses the Service website, certain data is temporarily stored in log files. This includes an anonymized IP address, date and time of access, browser type and version, operating system, URL, and previously visited website. The temporary storage of the IP address is necessary for website functionality and security. The data is also used for statistical evaluations and service improvement but is never analyzed for marketing purposes or linked to personal data. After the session, data is anonymized, ensuring no personal identification is possible. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, serving a legitimate interest without overriding user rights. Longer-term storage occurs only if IP addresses are anonymized or altered to prevent identification.

2. Data Retention and Deletion

Your account is limited to a maximum of 90 days. After the account expires, your personal data will be automatically deleted within 3 days. After this period, all data, including your username, email address, and SSH public key, will be permanently deleted from our systems.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to your personal data, as well as request corrections, deletion, or limitations on the processing of your data. You may also object to the processing of your data. If your data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, it will be deleted.
